Ore Festival 2023: Irele LG Council Boss, Ajimotokin Felicitates With People of Ode Irele Community. 


• Calls for Peaceful Celebrations. 


The Executive Chairman, of Irele Local Government, Hon. (Barr. ) Olusegun Ajimotokin has called for the peaceful conduct of the indigenes ahead of Ore Festival in Ode Irele Community tomorrow. 


Hon. Ajimotokin in a goodwill message felicitates with the people of Irele Community on the 2023 edition of Ore Festival. 


According to Hon. Ajimotokin, Ore Festival is a festival that marks the end of the planting season and the beginning of another season of harvest. It preludes to the consumption of new yam and the implication of this is that nobody in the town can make a meal out of New Yam or even bring new yam to the community until this festival is consummated, he stated. 



He urged the good people of Irele Community particularly the youths to have a reflection on how the festival has been celebrated from time immemorial and take caution in the manner and behaviour in which they demonstrate on one another as they celebrate the festival. 


Meanwhile the Honourable Chairman as part of his preparation towards the festival had on Thursday 6th July 2023 and Monday July 10th 2023 met with Heads of Ruling Houses, High Chiefs, Chiefs, heads of the Quarters, representatives of Irele Progressives Union (IPU), representatives of the youths, security operatives, Drivers and Okada union among other stakeholders to appeal and reconcile the stakeholders to ensure peaceful celebrations on the upcoming Ore festival and the stakeholders in the meeting all agreed unanimously to demonstrate peaceful conduct during and after the festival. 


The Council Boss equally intimated the stakeholders on the letter directed to the office of Irele Local Government Chairman by the Ondo State Government through the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs on the position of the State Government regarding the traditional head of Ode Irele Community. 


In the first and the second meetings presided over by the Chairman of Irele Local Government, Hon.(Barr.) Olusegun Ajimotokin with stakeholders ahead of the festival were; the Secretary to Irele Local Government, Mr Oladipupo Temenu, Head of Local Government Administration, Chief Okoroboh Rotimi Williams, NULGE Chairman, Comrade Temilola Orimisan, Head of Orunbemekun Ruling House, High Chief Ajibowu Faniniyi, Head of Jagboju Ruling House, High Chief Aroloye, Head of Oyenusi Ruling House, High Chief Olagundoye, High Chief Oloruntusin, the Gbogunron of Irele Kingdom, Two Ex-Chairmen of Irele Local Government, Hon. Festus Mesewonrun and Hon. Shadrack Olowojuni (Segro), representative of Irele Progressive Union (IPU), Dr Akinwumi M. O, Council of High Chiefs led by the secretary, High Chief Owoloye, the Logbosere of Irele Kingdom, Council of Chiefs led by the Secretary, Chief Chief Okunuwa, the Okunuwa of Irele Kingdom, Representative of the Youth, Mr Sola Adekugbe (Erica), Representative of the Driver's Union, Mr Oluwasegun Ogunwo (Ugbo Megba), Security Operatives; Irele Divisional Police Officer, CSP Wole Ogodo, Head of DSS in Irele Local Government, Mr Oyeniyi Jide, Head of  NSCDC in Irele Local Government, Kemini Nasiri, Amotekun Corps among other stakeholders. 


In the same vein, Hon. Ajimotokin yesterday was on Awawa 94.1 FM to clear the air on the issues hovering around the 2023 Ore Festival for public consumption.


The Council Boss congratulates the Regent of Ode Irele, High Chief Olanrewaju Ayeromara, the OMOMUHAWAN of Irele Kingdom for this year's edition of the festival and prays for peace, safety and prosperity of Irele Community and her inhabitants. 


He assured residents of Ode Irele Community that the authority of Irele Local Government Council has put in place security measures that will regulate the conduct of the people before, during and after the festival.
