Raise the bar of performance, Sanwo-Olu charges new principal officers, Swears-In SSG, COS And Six Permanent Secretaries Lagos State Govermor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday swore-in new principal cabinet officers along with six permanent secretaries into the state public service. The principal officers are Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Folashade Sherifat Jaji, the Chief of Staff, Mr. Tayo Ayinde and the Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Gboyega Soyannwo. The new Permanent Secretaries are Dr. Eniayewu Benjamin, Erinle Olumide, Oludara Oyebisi Okelola, Wasiu Akeusola, Yewande Falugba and Mustapha Osiefa. The deputy chief press secretary, Mr. Gboyega Akosile was also presented at the ceremony attended by party chieftains, top civil servants and family members of the appointees. MATHEW KOLAWOLE EMERGES AS SPEAKER OF 7TH KOGI STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY. Prince Mathew Kolawole, Member Representing Kabba Bunu Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly has emerged as the Speaker of the seventy Assembly. Prince Mathew Kolawole was elected as speaker today after the inauguration of the seventh Kogi state House of Assembly by the state governor, Yahaya Bello. Yahaya Bello said his proclamation of the 7th Assembly is in accordance to the Nigeria Constitution of Section 105, sub section 3. Akpabio apologises for leaving PDP By Dennis Erezi 06 June 2019 | 2:16 pm Nigerian lawmaker Senator Godswill Akpabio Thursday apologised to members of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for leaving the party months before the 2019 general elections. “I apologize to my colleagues in the PDP for the manner I left,” Akpabio said at the 8th Senate valedictory session in Abuja. “I know they miss me.” Akpabio left the PDP in August 2018 for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). “Let the world know I’ve joined APC, I’m now a progressive,” Akpabio said in August 2018. “What I have done today is to link the people of Akwa Ibom to the centre. 200-level student killed during initiation into Aiye confraternity in Ondo The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the killing of a 21-year-old undergraduate of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, AAUA, Ondo State. DAILY POST gathered that the deceased identified as Daniel Paul Oluwatosin, a 200 level student of the institution’s Philosophy Department, was allegedly killed by suspected cultists during initiation process into “aiye” confraternity. Three suspects, who were linked to the killing of the deceased, have subsequently been arrested by the police. The suspected cultists nabbed included Ifedayo Oluwaseun 19; Nafiu Akani David, 22 and Ajibola Philips aged 22. Robbery, Kidnapping, Murder Top List of Crimes in Nigeria, Arrest 2,175 Suspects in Two Months - Police BY SAHARAREPORTERS, NEW YORKJUN 06, 2019 The Nigerian Police said it had arrested 2,175 suspects since April 5 this year amidst efforts by the security to stem the tide of crime and violence in Nigeria, adding that armed robbery, kidnapping and murder are on the top of list of crimes escalating in the country. The security agency said police operatives attached to the Operation Puff Adder had also rescued 63 kidnap victims within the period and called for tougher legislation against kidnapping and banditry, including the seizure of assets linked to these crimes.
