BREAKING: Nigerian Senate President, Ahmad Lawan withdraws appointment of media aide 20th June, 2019. victoradedeji. blogspot.com Nigeria Senate President, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan has withdrawn the appointment of Mr Festus Adedayo barely 48 hours after his appointment as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity. In a statement made available to DAILY POST on Thursday in Abuja by the Special Assistant to the Senate President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Mohammed Isa, the appointment was rescinded in his best interest. Part of the statement reads: “The office of the President of the Senate has reviewed the appointment of Mr. Festus Adedayo as Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the President of the Senate and decided to rescind its decision on the appointment, and wishes Mr. Adebayo the best in his future endeavours.”

NAFDAC bans the sale of Sniper Insecticides in open market and supermarkets. 20th June, 2019. victoradedeji. blogspot. Com The National Food, Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC) has ordered agro-dealers to withdraw popular agricultural pesticide, Sniper, from open markets and supermarkets, to reduce its use for suicide across the country. The federal government yesterday placed a restriction on the sale and use of the fatal agro-chemical product, Sniper. The development was made public by NAFDAC’s director, Veterinary Medicine and Allied Products Directorate, Dr Bukar Usman, at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan on Wednesday, June 19, Leadership reports. Since Sniper hits the Nigerian market, it has become the favourite of most Nigerians, especially the poor for killing mosquitoes and other pests. Similarly, the product has also been abused by many as they use it to commit suicide.

Traffic offence: LASG prosecutes 13 workers of '7Up Bottling Company' The operatives of the Lagos State Task Force on Wednesday arraigned 13 workers of 'Seven-Up Bottling Company' for assault on Officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA). Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, in a release by the Agency, stated that the enforcement team of the Agency arrested the 13 workers after they assaulted LASTMA Officers and injured three of them while trying to tow a truck (MUS 75 XX) belonging to the company parked illegally on the road and causing traffic gridlock at the former Lagos toll gate on the Expressway. In his words, "The prosecution of these 13 arrested workers became imperative in order to serve as deterrent to others who might want to attack law enforcement officers in the course of performing their official duties and enforcing the Executive Order recently signed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu." A release today in Abuja by the NNPC Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs, Mr. Ndu Ughamadu, stated that President Buhari also appointed alongside Mr Kyari, seven new Chief Operating Officers. Until his new appointment, Mr Kyari, a geologist, was Group General Manager, Crude Oil Marketing Division of NNPC and also doubled, since 13th May, 2018, as Nigeria’s National Representative to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC.
