UPDATED:- Detained Adeleke to be arraigned in Abuja today THE Osun State candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in last year’s governorship election, Senator Ademola Adeleke, will be arraigned today in Abuja, the police said last night. According to Force spokesman Frank Mba, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DCP), the senator was arrested and being detained in connection with ongoing criminal investigations touching on his person. He, however, declined to give the exact charges against Adeleke. A police source told The Nation last night that the senator will be arraigned for forgery. A statement by Mba reads: “Senator Adeleke is currently in police custody. He was taken into custody in the evening of today yesterday (6th, May, 2019, in connection with ongoing criminal investigations touching on his person. “Meanwhile, in the best tradition of natural justice and fair hearing, he has already been served with the relevant charge sheet containing his alleged offences in
ODSG Places Embargo On The Building Of New Hotels, Clubs, Beer Parlour Joints In Ijapo and Alagbaka Estates As part of proactive measure to forestall any breach of public peace, particularly, in Government Reserved Areas exclusively planned for residence, Ondo State Government has placed embargo on the building of new hotels, night clubs, or beer parlour joints in Alagbaka and Ijapo estates in Akure, the capital city. The commissioner for Information and Orientation, Yemi Olowolabi, who briefed the press after the State Executive Meeting held on Monday, 6th May, 2019, said the move was to ensure peace and tranquility. He explained that the two estates are full residential areas and henceforth government will no longer approve the construction of new hotels or night clubs. Ondo Government Okays Re-naming Of Varsity After Agagu In furtherance of its plan to rename the State owned University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa after the late sage and former governor, Dr Olusegun Kokumo Agagu, the State Executive Council on Monday approved a bill which changed formally the name of Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa to Olusegun Kokumo Agagu University of Science and Technology. Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, had announced in March during a statewide 'Thank You Tour' at Okitipupa that his administration would immortalise Dr Olusegun Agagu by renaming the State owned institution after him. The bill will now be forwarded to the State House of Assembly for passage into law. The Governor has been applauded by many in the State and beyond for honouring Dr Olusegun Agagu, saying it's a honour well deserved.

INSECURITY : GOVERNOR WIKE MOVES AGAINST COMMUNITIES WITH PREVALENCE OF CULTISM AND KIDNAPPING Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that communities with prevalence of insecurity, cultism and kidnapping will no longer enjoy State Government patronage.
