Weah, Drogba, Others To Play At Ambode’s Farewell Match. The organising committee for the Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode farewell football match has confirmed May 18, 2019 for the high profile game. The epoch match, according to the organisers, would see former World Footballer of the Year and President of Liberia, George Weah play along with notable world football legends including Didier Drogba. The Chairman Organising Committee for ‘The Match’, Nigerian ex-international, Wahidi Akanni, in a statement in Lagos on Wednesday, disclosed that the game was aimed at giving Ambode a befitting farewell. “Gov. Thereby, making it difficult for them to conceive... To cure Eda, look for a reasonable quantity of (Ogbo leaves) squeeze it like bitter leaf, sieve it and store it in a container. Take 2Tot morning and night before meal till you see a change. However, women that are experiencing inner heat in their womb should try this leaf called ( Oshokotu) in Yoruba. I don't know the Ibo, Hausa or English name. This inner womb heat kills or paralyse the sperm from fertilising the female eggs, there by making it difficult for such woman to conceive. FG IS PLANNING INSTALLATION OF GAS FILLING PLANTS IN LGS – KACHIKWU The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, has said that the federal government is working assiduously to ensure the installation of gas filling plants in each of the 774 local government areas in the country. Kachikwu disclosed this in his keynote address at the commissioning of the Nigerian Army Welfare Limited Guaranty Gas plant at Mambilla Barracks, Abuja Thursday. He said: “We are working with the Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) companies producing cylinders, with very strong presidentially backed incentives to be enable them to produce LPG cylinders in this country. “About four of them are getting facilities from the Nigerian Content Development Monitoring Board (NCDMB) from the more than 200 million facilities we have. “They are getting import exemption for materials to be assembled for the plants. “Once you do that, you also expect them to assemble them around the more than 700 local

THE FIRST FILM SHOT IN NIGERIA The British film “Palaver: A Romance of Northern Nigeria" was the first film shot in Nigeria in 1926 and was released to the theatres on April 24, 1927. It was filmed among the Sura and Ngas people of the Bauchi-Plateau in Northern Nigeria. This film, where the rivalry between a British District Officer and a tin miner leads to war, was shot entirely in Northern Nigeria in a period of five months (March to August, 1926). "Palaver" with a running time of 1 hour 18 minutes, was produced by Oscar-award winning Geoffrey Barkas and photographed by Stanley Rodwell through local assistance by the Nigerian government, who helped in providing transport and obtaining suitable pictures of native life. #HistoryVille

BREAKING: Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir resigns amidst protests Omar Al-Bashir, a political hardliner and controversial leader of Sudan, has stepped down after 30 years in power, reports said Thursday. United Arab Emirates-based Al-Arabiya network reported that Mr Al-Bashir resigned his position with immediate effect. Reuters also cited government sources as saying Mr Al-Bashir has stepped down and a new government was being formed. The 75-year-old has reportedly handed over to the country’s supreme military council controlled by the armed forces. His ouster follows days of protests that have engulfed the country, which is amongst the largest by land mass in Africa. Reports of Mr Al-Bashir’s resignation came shortly after the soldiers reportedly surrounded his palace in the capital Khartoum. Nigerian Girl Killed For Failing to Satisfy His Client Sexually Blessing Benedicta Daniels but popularly known as Anita, a Nigerian sex worker in Italy, has been murdered by Leopoldo Scalici, 40, for failing to satisfy him. According to Italian website, Modena Today, Scalici approached Benedicta on the streets of Modena Nord for sex over the weekend. He loaded her on board the van on which he was travelling to reach a secluded place where they were believed to have had sex. Benedicta was reportedly killed after the duo had had sexual intercourse and an argument had broken out, which led to Scalici hitting the Nigerian prostitute with a heavy object on the face and head. JAMB: 2019 UTME begins tomorrow .... JAMB registers 1.8m candidates for UTME, DE as application closes Barring any last minute change in plan, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), will kick-start this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) nationwide, tomorrow. From available records, over 1.7 million candidates successfully registered for the UTME and will participate in the week-long exercise in 698 Computer Based Test (CBT) centres across the country. Last week, JAMB conducted the UTME optional mock examination for thousands of candidates that indicated interest to participate in the exam in course of registration. JAMB said it used the mock exam to test-run its systems and exposed the students to what CBT and UTME looks like. Its spokesman, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, reporters that all is set for commencement of the examination, and added that all loopholes that were discovered through the platform of the mock examination have been correcte

BREAKING NEWS: Rivers poll; Supreme Court strikes out APC, Tonye Cole’s three appeals. The Supreme Court on Thursday  struck out three appeals filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tonye Patrick Cole and members of his faction of the party against the judgment that excluded the APC from fielding candidates in the last elections in Rivers State. A seven-man panel of the apex court, led by Justice Ibrahim Muhammad, held that three appeals were defective, incompetent and could not be heard by the court.The appeals are: SC/295/ 2019 filed by APC, with People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) listed among respondents; SC/266/2019 filed by APC, with Magnus Abe and others as respondents and SC/267/2019 filed by Tonye Patrick Cole, with Magnus Abe and others as respondents.
