Popular Nollywood Actress Dies After Childbirth April 3, 2019 Popular Nollywood actress, Olabisi Monsurat Ishola popularly known as Bisket has been confirmed dead days after welcoming her baby. According to reports, Bisket, a member of Theatre and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), passed away during the weekend barely 10 days after welcoming her new baby. A colleague of the late actress, Omolola Olumide confirmed the death of CEO of Bisket Movie Concept. It was also gathered that the late actress and producer was a member of the Lagos Island branch of TAMPAN. Bisket’s death is coming almost three months after the death of a colleague, Gbenga Akintunde aka Burger, who died at the age of 47 on January 4 2019. On February 27, another actor, Rotimi Alfred Popoola was announced dead by the Ogun state chapter of the Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria, TAMPAN.

BREAKING: ASUU Resumes Indefinite Strike April 3, 2019 ASUU strike, News Alert The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Taraba State University chapter, on Wednesday resumed indefinite strike to press home its demands. The union had embarked on a strike in 2018 but suspended it when the Taraba government promised to meet its demands which included the payment of earned academic allowances from 2014 till date, and the provision of required infrastructure to enhance teaching and learning. Dr Samuel Shikaa, the branch Chairman, and Dr Atando Agbu, the Secretary, in a statement shortly after the Executive Council Meeting with national officials in Jalingo, said that the teachers would remain at home until the demands were met. JUST IN: FEC approves new employment programme targetting 60,000 youth April 3, 2019 Premium Times The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved a new scheme that is targeted at creating employment for 60,000 Nigerians aged 18-25 years. This was announced Wednesday by the Minister of Budget and Planning, Udoma Udoma while briefing State House correspondents at the end of the meeting of the council chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari. Mr Udoma said the new scheme is called the N-Power knowledge multi-track youth empowerment programme. He said under the scheme, 12,000 unemployed or under-employed graduates aged 18-25 yrs will be trained and given relevant devices afterwards. He also said the training will be on mobile computing and commonly used electronic devices. Mr Udoma said the programme, which will be run under the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), is open to all unemployed graduates. April 3, 2019 Ibadan News, News Alert, Olubadan The crisis between the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji, and his high chiefs deepened on Tuesday as the first class monarch ordered them to remove their “illegal crowns.’’ The Olubadan said that he had no objection to the return of his high chiefs to the palace “once they remove their illegal crowns.’’ The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the high chiefs had on Monday accused the Olubadan of running a “ one-man-show’’ and disregarding the Olubadan-in-Council.
