The Origin Of ‘Iyawo’, The Yoruba Word For Wife!!! It is unknown to many speakers of the Yoruba language that the original Yoruba word for wife is ‘aya’ and not the commonly used ‘Iyawo’. Back in the early years of the Yoruba people, the word Iyawo did not have a place in the Yoruba language not until an incident brought about its coinage and usage. BREAKING: NYSC Gets New DG April 26, 2019 New DG, News Alert, NYSC The Nigerian army has appointed Brigadier General Shuiabu Ibrahim as the 18th Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). Until his appointment, he was the Registrar of the Nigeria Army University (NAU), Biu, Borno State. The outgoing Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Major General SZ Kazaure has been moved to the Army Resource Centre, Abuja. A statement by Army spokesman on Friday, Col. Sagir Musa said the appointment is with immediate effect. The statement reads: “The Nigerian Army has approved the postings and appointments of some of its senior officers.” Those affected by this include, Major General SZ Kazaure who has been posted from National Youth Service Corps to Nigerian Army Resource Centre and appointed as Senior Resource Person, Brigadier General CA Bossman from Nigerian Army Achives to Command Schools Services and appointed as Director Command Schools

As Italo Nascimento Fernandes and his wife crossed the road near their home in Brazil earlier this week, they saw a massive anaconda crossing the road. The couple were travelling along the highway when they saw the giant snake trying to make it to the other side (maybe to eat the chicken?). But seeing it, they knew they had to help. Fernandes told The Dodo: We decided to stop the car and get out. There are no signs for the cars to wait so she can cross. I have seen snakes run over on the highway before, and think such thing is a crime. Nigeria’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved N52billion to monitor the country’s borders. Speaking to pressmen after a meeting in Abuja on Thursday, Abdulrahman Dambazau, Minister of Interior, said the contract would cover 86 border posts and all the 1,400 illegal routes being used for smuggling and other crimes. He said the pilot system has already been installed at two border posts, disclosing that the information would be available real-time, 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Dambazau said: “Council approved N52billion for e-border solution. This process started in 2012, but we picked it up to move forward when we came in.
