Ganduje vs Abba: APC replies PDP’s call for cancellation of election The All Progressives Congress, APC, has responded to the call for the cancellation of the governorship election made by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kano State. Chairman of the APC in Kano, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, said there were no grounds for the cancellation of the rerun election currently going on in some parts of the State. Recall that the PDP had called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to totally cancel the election, citing invasion of the state by thugs. However, the APC denied all the allegations raised by the PDP. According to Abbas, “The call by the PDP for cancellation of election was uncalled-for because the election is still ongoing. “INEC should ensure conclusion of the election. “PDP should wait for the final result of the poll and then take legal action if not satisfied with it. That is what the law provided. “I think PDP failed to mobilise its people that

Buhari, APC Begging Atiku Not To Go To Court – Buba Galadima. Buba Galadima, a former ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, has claimed that President Muhammadu and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), have paid some people to convince Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 23 elections, not to challenge the result in court. Galadima stated this when he featured on Sunrise Daily, a programme on Channels Television on Wednesday. “Records available to us show that our candidates had won this election and that is why we have gone to court. “APC have insisted, demonstrated and sponsored some highly placed Nigerians, paid them handsomely to appeal to Atiku not to go to court. “What is their business? Didn’t their candidate in 2003, 2007 and 2011 go to court to challenge results? Did he ever congratulate those that were declared to have won those elections?” he queried. This was contained in the petition he filed before the Presid

Kano Rerun: INEC has nothing to count in Kano–Kwankwaso The leader of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State and serving senator, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct fresh rerun elections in the state. He said there were no elections on Saturday in the state. Mr Kwankwaso, who spoke on Saturday to journalists at his residence, condemned the alleged role of the police under the command of the Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG), Anthony Micheal–Obizi, who he said provided back up for thugs to perpetrate violence and massive rigging. He said the widespread violence and rigging of the supplementary polls took place in all the 28 local government areas affected by the rerun. “It is very sad that elections could not hold today because, by yesterday evening, all the polling units in the rerun areas were overtaken by thugs. Very early morning today, elections were concluded in many polling centres. “And even

Why I’m Able To Influence Elections – Tinubu March 23, 2019 Tinubu Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, says his moral authority plays a role in his ability to influence elections. He also said that other tools that helped him influence elections were his skills as a veteran politician and dedication to campaigning and mobilising his own party members. Mr Tinubu said this on Friday in Lagos while responding to an advertorial in the media, alleging that he met with the INEC chairman to influence the Sokoto State governorship rerun election in favour of the APC. “Our attention has been drawn to a partisan advertorial in the March 21 edition of Daily Trust, entitled – ‘Inconclusive Gubernatorial Election: Sokoto People Warn Tinubu, Oshiomole, Yari, Bagudu and others’. “The advertorial, placed by an organisation called the Sokoto State Coalition of PDP Supporters, bears the logo of PDP National Youth League and is signed by one Engr.
