APC sweeps Zamfara LG polls The Zamfara Independent Electoral Commission (ZSIEC) has declared the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winners of the Local Government Council election in the state. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 42 political parties participated in the polls, but the major opposition political parties in the state boycotted the elections. NAN recalls that some political parties in the state, including the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Accord Party, had last week filed a case at the state High Court in Gusau, challenging the State Independent Electoral Commission over failure to serve election notice to political parties in the state. Declaring the result, the Executive Chairman of the commission, Alhaji Garba Muhammad, said: “In accordance with the Law of the Commission No 4 2012 as ammended, I, Garba Muhammad as the Chief Returning of the LG election in Zamfara, hereby announce the results of the 14 local government elections c

"Regina Daniels Is My 5th Wife, Not 6th Delta State multibillionaire and Politician Chief Ned Nwoko has debunked the stories making the rounds on social media that his newly married wife and Nollywood actress Regina Daniels is his sixth wife. Ned while reacting to the stories said Regina is actually his fifth and not sixth wife as being speculated. A close friend of the couple who addressed the issue on condition of anonymity quoted the successful businessman as saying that his wife is 22 and not 19 years as being speculated. Senate President, Saraki gets international appointment President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has been appointed as an “Ambassador-at-Large” of the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC). In a letter dated March 16, 2019, Ambassador Friday Sani, the Diplomatic Head of the Commission to Nigeria and other African Countries, stated that sequel to the approval of the World Secretary General of the IHRC, Dr. Saraki has been appointed as one of the revered Ambassadors-at-Large of the multinational body.
Official: Ondo Governor (Akeredolu) is under indefinite suspension - Adams Oshiomole The National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomole has confirmed the party placed the governor of Ondo State, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu under indefinite suspension. The party's National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting slated for June will either lift the suspension or expel the governor from the party.
