Breaking: Court to stop Buhari’s inauguration until the determination of Atiku’s petition  March 21, 2019. Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are threatening to stop with a court’s order President Muhammadu Buhari’s inauguration until the determination of the petition challenging the President’s victory in the February 23 election.  The Presidency has dismissed the threat as “unserious” and dared the PDP to launch its legal battle. The main opposition party was reacting yesterday to the plethora of court cases filed against the announcement of results of the March 9 governorship and state Assembly elections in Bauchi and Rivers states by candidates of the President’s party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
How INEC Reduced My Votes In 31 States – Atiku Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says data from the server of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) revealed how his votes were reduced in 31 states and the federal capital territory (FCT). Atiku made the claim in a petition he and his party filed before the presidential election tribunal. The PDP candidate said he defeated Buhari with 1,615,302 votes. He said data from INEC server showed that he actually polled a total of 18,356,732 votes to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari, who had 16,741,430 votes. According to the result declared by INEC from the 36 states and the FCT, Buhari polled 15,191,847, while Atiku came second with 11,262,978 votes. The petitioner said smart card readers deployed by the commission, in addition to accreditation, equally transmitted electronically the results of voting from polling units directly to INEC’s server. Suspected Cultists kill Two Corps Members, Injure One.  March 21, 2019 News Update, NYSC Suspected cultists have killed two corps members and injured another during an attack on their residence. The incident occurred on Wednesday night along School road, Swali, in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa state. The Bayelsa Commissioner of Police, Olushola David, who visited the state NYSC Secretariat and met with the State NYSC Coordinator, Lotto Bolade, on Thursday in Yenagoa, described the killing as “shocking”. The CP assured the NYSC of a rejigged security strategy to ensure the safety of serving corp members in the state. “The police have briefed the State Governor, Seriake Dickson on the incident; there is nobody that will hear of the incident that will not be shocked. “The corps members in the state may be scared, but please assure them that there will be improved security under my watch,” the CP stated. President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie has called on deities like Shango, Ogun, Amadioha to consume election riggers in Nigeria. The presidential aide made the declaration while reacting to remark by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, on those who rigged the elections so far conducted in 2019. The Independent National Electoral Commission fixes April to resume collation and the announcement of results in Rivers state. Announcing this at a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday, INEC Commissioner for Information and Voter Education, Mr Festus Okoye said that collation and announcement of results already generated would resume between April 2 and 5, 2019. Breaking: Nigerian Woman Delivers Sextuplets In The US By Abiola Alaba Peters - March 20, 2019 A Nigerian woman identified as Chiaka Thelma just welcomed six babies (four boys and two girls) at the Woman’s Hospital of Texas over the weekend. According to the hospital, the odds of having sextuplets are estimated to be one in 4.7 billion. The hospital went on to reveal that the babies were born between 4:50 a.m. and 4:59 a.m. The babies were born at weights ranging from 1 pound (0.4kg), 12 ounces (0.3kg) to 2 pounds (0.9kg), and 14 ounces (0.39kg). They are in stable condition and will continue to receive care in the hospital’s advanced neonatal intensive care unit.
