Poly students impound SARS vehicle after chasing ‘yahoo boy’ into their campus
Students of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic in Owo, Ondo state displayed the ‘aluta spirit’ on Tuesday as they impounded a patrol van of the operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
It was gathered that the SARS operatives chased a car belonging to a suspected ‘Yahoo boy’ into the Polytechnic campus which caused an uproar as the students mobilised themselves against the SARS operatives.
According to one of the students,
“Around 12pm the SARS operatives chased a car into our campus claiming the owner is a yahoo boy, we all trooped out to defend the student who had abandoned his car and ran away while trying to avoid being arrested. So we stood our grounds until they released the car and we also ensured they didn’t go with their van.”
“Their hilux van was kept in the school’s custody and the management has reported the incident to the Commissioner of Police in Akure.”
In a video shared on social media, the students were seen in their large numbers chanting. Some of them were seen mounting the open area of the pickup van and started driving the van round their campus
