Dickson offers automatic employment to PhD holders

Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has offered automatic employment to all PhD holders who are indigenes of the state and other indigenes of Ijaw speaking states in the country. According to the governor, the beneficiaries include Ijaws from Ondo, Edo, Delta, Rivers and Akwa Ibom states.
The state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson, in a statement on Friday, said the governor made the announcement while inaugurating the Committee for the Employment of PhD holders across Ijaw land. The governor said those to be employed would be deployed to the various state-owned tertiary institutions, including the Niger Delta University (NDU); the University of Africa; Bayelsa Medical University; the College of Education and Bayelsa State Polytechnic, among others.
According to him, the massive employment which also covers those in the Diaspora is part of the ongoing efforts of the state government to reposition the education sector. The statement said with the inauguration of the committee headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Kemela Okara, those who are interested should apply through the committee for immediate employment.
