Irele LG Prohibits Trading on Market Roads, Indiscriminate Dumping of Refuse on Waterways and Wrong Parkings.

... As Enforcements of Policy begin.

As part of his administration's effort to restore normalcy to Irele township market and other community markets in Irele Local Government, the Executive Chairman, Irele Local Government, Hon. (Barr.) Olusegun Ajimotokin today stormed Irele township market with his team to enforce the standard of arrangements for vehicular movements and the activities of traders in the market.

Hon. Ajimotokin equally warned traders against indiscriminate dumping of refuse on waterways which is preventing the free flow of water on market drainages resulting in flooding and pollution.

He cautioned motorists on wrong parkings and urged Drivers and Okada riders to desist from the dastardly act to avoid unnecessary traffic on the market roads.

The Honourable Chairman on several occasions had met market women, driver unions, okada unions and other stakeholders in his quest to set standards for the running of the market and make life bearable for the people.

For effective enforcement of the order, Hon. Ajimotokin yesterday reconvened a meeting with Market Women, drivers  Union, Okada Union, and Security operatives among other stakeholders to seek their cooperation and support towards ensuring the successful and consistent implementation of the order.

The Council Boss who was accompanied by the secretary to Irele Local Government, Mr Oladipupo Temenu, senior servants and security operatives reiterated his engagement with market traders and the need for prompt compliance.

He declared that the Task Force Team of the Council and the security operatives have been charged with the responsibility of implementing the order of the local government and ensuring prompt compliance of the people calling on the people to work with them peacefully and honourably.

Hon. Ajimotokin charged the people to take the order seriously and equally warned that defaulters would be punished appropriately by the provisions of the law.

The standard of arrangements would be extended to other township markets across the local government, he stated.
